ART 43 is Your Blue Line Alternative During Yellow Line Shutdown

November 26, 2018

The Yellow line shutdown on Metrorail has begun and will last through Sunday, December 9. Metro is promoting the Blue line as an alternative for traveling between Virginia and DC meaning that Blue line trains in Arlington will probably get pretty crowded.

If you need a quick ride between Courthouse and Crystal City, hop on the ART 43 instead of cramming on to a crowded Blue line train. ART 43 is a limited stop route that only stops at the Court House Metro, Rosslyn Metro, Crystal City Metro and the VRE station. During weekday rush hours service runs every 10 minutes and then every 20 minutes mid-day, evenings and weekends.

Other ART alternatives:

ART 42 travels between the Ballston and Pentagon Metro stations with stops in Clarendon and on Columbia Pike along the way. On weekends, the route goes to the Pentagon City Metro station instead of the Pentagon Metro.
