Stuff the ART Bus Food Drive on September 8 & 9

August 31, 2018

ART bus at Giant FoodsAs part of Hunger Action Month in September, Arlington Transit and its operator, National Express, will partner with the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) and Giant Foods to take action against hunger by challenging the community to “stuff" an ART bus full of non-perishable food items.

Stuff the Bus events will be held on September 8 and 9 at two different Giant Food stores in Arlington, VA. ART buses will be parked in front of the Giant stores to fill full of food donations. Our goal this year is to fill the buses with 10,000 pounds of healthy, non-perishable food! Stop by, say hi and donate!

Stuff-a-Bus Events will be held:
Saturday, September 8 & Sunday, September 9
10 am - 5 pm

Giant Food at Lyon Village -- 3115 Lee Hwy.
Giant Food at Virginia Square -- 3450 Washington Blvd.

All of the food collected will be donated to the AFAC who will distribute it to the more than 2,200 families a week who rely on AFAC for free supplemental groceries.
