Public Statement From ART Regarding Maintenance Issues

Dear Arlington Transit Rider,

Safety and operational reliability are top priorities of the ART Transit bus system.

Because of performance concerns, we recently expedited a third-party inspection of our fleet to make sure ART vehicles continue to meet the highest standards of safety along with service reliability. The review turned up maintenance issues with some of our buses, requiring immediate repairs. That work has now caused a number of delays and schedule reductions on several routes this week.

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused riders, and are grateful for your patience and ongoing support.

We will continue to work non-stop to fix this situation and restore the level of reliability our riders can depend on.
