NEW Arlington STAR Application for Booking and Managing STAR Paratransit Rides

On Monday June 2, 2025, Arlington County is proud to announce the launch of the Arlington STAR application, developed by Spare Labs Inc, allowing all registered paratransit users to easily manage and track their STAR trips and future bookings. Spare’s integrated scheduling engine and rider-facing mobile application is designed to improve efficiency, enhance the passenger experience, and simplify operational oversight for agencies of all sizes. 

The Arlington STAR App is available for iOS and Android and delivers an accessible and intuitive interface tailored to paratransit users. Highlights include: 

  • Self-service Booking: Riders can schedule, cancel, or modify trips in just a few taps 24/7.

  • Trip Tracking: Real-time updates on vehicle location and estimated arrival times. 

  • Notifications: Automated reminders and alerts via push, SMS, or email. Receive updates regarding various aspects of their trip, such as scheduled times, delays, and driver cancellation

  • Leave reviews and comments for individual STAR trips upon completion

  • Accessibility Features: Designed with input from mobility-impaired users; includes high-contrast mode, voiceover compatibility, and large text settings.
