ART & STAR Fare Increase July 1, 2024

 On July 1, 2024, fare changes will take effect for ART and STAR.   

ART regular fare will increase from $2.00 to $2.25, the ART discounted fare for seniors, persons with disabilities and K-12 cash paying students will increase from $1.00 to $1.10. All fare increases match the fare increase for Metrobus. ART fares have historically mirrored Metrobus rates to keep bus fares simple and uniform in Arlington.

STAR fares will also increase. The increases will keep the Zone 1 fare at double the ART adult fare. The new fares are:

  • Zone 1 = $4.50 from $4.00
  • Zone 2 = $6.20 from $5.50
  • Zone 3 = $10.70 from $9.50

STAR coupon booklets are available to purchase at the Commuter Stores with locations in Ballston, Rosslyn, Shirlington and Crystal City, as well as the Mobile Commuter Store.
