As more people go on Arlington's Car-Free Diet, there are more walkers, cyclists and transit users sharing the street with drivers. Whether you're on two feet, two wheels or four wheels, it's important for everyone to respect each other's rights and space.

Reminder that route and schedule changes for ART 62 will go into effect January 3, 2012.

Arlington Transit has put blue snowflake decals on bus stops that will be in service during severe weather conditions.

The ART Bus canned food drive was a success! A total of 376 items were collected  from riders who put their donations in boxes that were aboard the ART buses and at Commuter Stores.

Transit Near Me is a new web application that provides an overview of all the transit options near your location and where they go.

Route and schedule changes will go into effect for ART 62 on Tuesday, January 3. ART 62 will be rerouted down Kirkwood Rd. and travel through Clarendon. It will no longer travel along Lee Highway to N. Veitch St.

Since the canned food drive on the ART buses and at the Commuter Stores began on November 14, we have received 100 canned and 60 boxed food items! The canned food drive will continue until December 16.

The new Art on the ART Bus exhibit is up and traveling around Arlington. Artist Victor Ekpuk created the bus cards using contemporary and familiar symbols to express the humorous side of our social and personal issues that riders might recognize.

Arlington Transit will be holding a canned food drive November 14 - December 16. Donations can be made on board all ART buses and at Commuter Stores. All donations will go to the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) and be distributed to Arlington residents.

Arlington Transit seeks your input on potential route adjustments to ART 62. A meeting will be held on November 1 to discuss the proposed schedule and route changes.

On August 15, 2011, several route and schedule adjusments will go into effect for ART 41, 45, 51 and 52.

Riding ART is a great way to start or stay on Arlington’s Car-Free Diet. ART can take you to work, restaurants, shops, parks and more. You can also ride it to connect to Metrorail or Metrobus and get to the entire DC metro region.

Dump the Pump Day is Thursday, June 16. Leave your car at home and ride transit instead to get to where you need to go!  National Dump the Pump Day encourages people to ride public transportation (instead of driving) and save money. 

New artwork is up in the Art on the ART Bus mobile exhibit. The exhibit features artwork by Julie Wolfe who focused her work on the flora and fauna of Virginia.

Forsythe Transportation, the contractor who operates ART, won the 2011 APTA Gold Bus Safety Award. Due to Forsythe's hard work, safety complaints on ART dropped 58% in one year.

Kids of all ages were at the Truck Zoo at Central Library this weekend. Kids got to check out the ART bus and even sit in the driver's seat and honk the horn!

On Saturday, May 21, Central Library will be taken over by trucks and other cool vehicles for kids to look at and explore. Look for the ART bus there!

Metro will be holding a series of town hall meetings to discuss upcoming changes to both Metrobus and Metrorail. The meeting in Arlington will be held on Wednesday, May 18 in the Arlington County Board Room.

The ART Prize Patrol kicked-off on Earth Day. County Board Member Chris Zimmerman and County staff handed out reusable grocery bags to riders on ART 41 as a “thank you” for riding ART.

ART was at the Teen Summer Expo on April 9. Information about the iRide program was handed out and questions about how to ride the bus were answered.

We had a great turnout for the second Bus Riding 101 Workshop that was held on April 1. Thanks to everyone who came out and helped make the event a success!

The March 28 Bus Riding Workshop went well. If you didn't get to attend, we'll be holding another one on Friday, April 1.

ART will be holding a free workshop on Friday, April 1, to answer questions about riding the bus and the benefits of using the SmarTrip Card.

ART Bus driver William Alston named Arlington Transit Operator of the Year for 2010 by Forsythe Transportaion.

Paper weekly bus passes will no longer be accepted after January 29 on Metrobus, ART, and other regional providers. Weekly bus pass users must use a SmarTrip card.

Metro will be closing the Foggy Bottom Metro station January 14 - 17 due to track work.

The paper 7-Day Regional Bus Passes are still being accepted on Metrobuses and all regional bus systems. The paper passes are ok to use until the end of January.

WMATA extends the use of the paper 7-Day Regional Bus Pass until January 29, 2011.

The $230 per month transit benefit has been extended through December 31, 2011.
