New Art on the ART Bus Exhibit Features Bold Colors and Designs

May 21, 2013

The latest Art on the ART bus exhibit is up and making its way around Arlington! The new exhibit features the artwork of local artist Amy Hughes Braden.

Braden is an Arlington native and Corcoran graduate who works as a painter and art teacher in the DC area. Her work utilizes portraiture to investigate a wide variety of issues, from family dynamics to the control of mass media in daily life. For the Art on the ART Bus exhibit, Braden has created further explorations in portraiture. Her show Demographic/Sampling will be in the Mezz Gallery at the Artisphere from May 15 - August 2 and focuses on portraits of pre-teens and the experiences of youth transitioning into adulthood.

See below for some pictures from the Art on the ART Bus exhibit and view more pictures on ART's Facebook page.

The Art on the ART Bus exhibit is a joint effort between Arlington Transit and the Artisphere. One ART bus has been designated for the exhibit and will rotate routes so that all riders can enjoy the artwork. Remember to look up next time you board an ART bus. There might be a colorful surprise waiting for you!
