Learn about Arlington's Transit Future -- Open Houses June 7 & 9

June 3, 2016

The open houses on June 7 and 9, 2016, have already taken place. Residents can provide comments on the final recommendations for the TDP at upcoming public meetings or via email. See the "Opportunities to Comment" section below for more details.

Final recommendations for Arlington's Transit Development Plan (TDP) have been sent to the County Board for their review. The TDP outlines bus improvements throughout the County during the next 10 years.

The proposed plan calls for adding, expanding or realigning bus routes and creating easier transfers to maximize accessibility to regional and local activity centers. A major feature of the plan is the creation of a Premium Transit Network connecting Columbia Pike, Pentagon City and Crystal City. Route-by-route details for the ART bus and Metrobus recommendations can be found on the TDP website. Extensive community input helped shape these recommendations.

It is anticipated that the Board will consider the TDP for approval at their July 19 Board Meeting. Prior to the meeting, there will be several opportunities for members of the community to learn more about the TDP recommendations, as well as opportunities for providing comments to the Board.
