Another Successful Stuff-a-Bus Event!

September 28, 2015

Stuff-a-BusThank you to everyone who helped make this past weekend's Stuff-a-Bus event at the Lyon Village Giant a huge success! The two day food drive brought in 2,652 pounds of food. Overall, a grand total of 10,818 pounds of food was collected at the three Stuff-a-Bus events held this month!

As part of Hunger Action Month in September, Arlington Transit and its operator, National Express, partnered with the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) and Giant Foods to take action against hunger by challenging the community to stuff an ART bus full of food donations.

Stuff-a-Bus Volunteers

The nearly 11,000 pounds of food collected has been donated to AFAC and will be distributed to the 2,200 families a week who rely on AFAC for free supplemental groceries.

Thank you to everyone who donated and to those who volunteered to help out at the events!
