10 New BusFinders Installed at ART Bus Stops

July 8, 2013

Ever wonder what those green boxes at some of the ART bus stops are? They're BusFinders that track the location of ART buses along the route and lets you know the estimated arrival time of the next ART bus to the stop.

To use the BusFinder, place your thumb on the circle for your route. The red light will start to flash in the circle as the BusFinder receives real-time information. Within about 30 seconds, the BusFinder will indicate how many minutes away the bus is from your stop.

For stops served by multiple bus routes, you can switch between routes to display times for both buses. The indicator goes up to 28 minutes, so if the bus is more than 28 minutes away, the BusFinder will display "Refer to Timetable."

There are currently 70 BusFinders at ART bus stops throughout Arlington. Ten of the BusFinders were recently installed in June and you can see their locations marked on the map below:

If there isn't a BusFinder at your ART bus stop, you can use the RealTime tool to find out when the next ART bus will arrive at your stop. There is both a desktop and a mobile version. Either enter the RealTime number for your bus stop (found on the bus stop flag) or select your route and bus stop and RealTime will tell you when the next ART bus will arrive.
