Arlington Transit’s Proposal to Replace Metrobus 3A Route
Arlington Transit has proposed taking over a portion of the current Metrobus 3A route with a new ART bus route, the ART 55. The proposed route would replace the portion of the 3A that runs along Lee Highway between East Falls Church Metro and Rosslyn Metro.
The proposed route would serve the same bus stops as the 3A and operate the same hours. The proposed ART 55 would run every 15 minutes midday, every 20 minutes during the day on Saturday and every 30 minutes nights and on Sundays. During rush hours, the ART 55 would run every 12 minutes.
If the proposal to replace the 3A is approved by the WMATA Board of Directors, expected in November, ART 55 would start service on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015.
More information about the proposed ART 55 route, and an FAQ, can be found on the ART blog.
