Winter Weather Service
December 15, 2011 -- It's that time of year again when snow starts making an appearance in the weather forecast and traveling conditions can be unpredictable. Make sure you're up-to-date on all your winter weather travel information for the ART bus before heading out the door.
ART's Severe Weather Policy is posted up on the Arlington Transit website and provides information about service levels, snow route maps for each ART bus route and information for receiving service alerts.
When weather impacts service, ART has three levels of service operation:
- Limited: Modified Routes/ Some Delays in Service
- Severe: Greatly Modified Routes/ Limited Service/ Expect Delays (some routes could be canceled)
- No Service: Route Canceled
Please note that routes may be operating on different levels of service depending on road and traffic conditions. For example, due to road conditions ART 75 could be operating at a severe level of service while ART 41 is operating at a limited service level.

Be prepared ahead of time and make sure you know where to find the information you need. You never know when the next big storm may hit!
