Where Do You Want Bus Service to Go?

October 19, 2015

Where do you want to go?Arlington is continuing to develop its ten-year Transit Development Plan (TDP) for bus service in the County. In the Spring, the County conducted a survey asking the community for input about transit needs in Arlington. County staff will now report back to the community on their analysis of transit needs and ask for feedback on potential improvements -- including service on Columbia Pike and in Crystal City--Pentagon City.

Would you like to have a say in the TDP?

About the TDP

The Transit Development Plan (TDP) is a State-required study of the County’s transit service. It helps identify transit service needs, prioritize improvements and determine the resources required for implementing modified or new service. The plan also provides a foundation for requests for State funding, one of the County’s main funding sources for transit. The TDP builds upon the goals and policies adopted by the County Board in the Master Transportation Plan and the associated Transit Element (PDF).

The TDP is updated every six years, and the State requires annual status updates. In early 2015, Arlington submitted its annual update (PDF) to the TDP prepared in 2010.
