Truck Petting Zoo
Tuesday, May 17 -- Trucks and other cool vehicles will be taking over the parking lot at Central Library on Saturday, May 21 from 9 am - 11 am. The event is a chance for kids of all ages to touch and explore vehicles that they usually only see from afar. The ART bus will be there for kids to board and look around on. Other vehicles expected to be there include:
- A fire engine from the Arlington Fire Department
- A street sweeper, garbage truck and dump truck from the Arlington County Department of Environmental Services
- A concrete mixer from Vulcan Materials
- A gas operations vehicle from Washington Gas
- Arlington Transit's ART bus
- Motorcycle and police cruiser from the Arlington Police Department
- Ambulance and ladder truck
The trucks will be parked in the back parking lot of the library. Limited parking will be available. Attendees are encouraged to take the Metro and get off at the Virginia Square Metro stop.
