STAR Driver Honored
Congratulations to Simone Burroughs for being presented with one of Culpepper Garden's 2010 Elder Senior Service Awards!
A ceremony was held on November 8, in which Ms. Burroughs was one of three award recipients. Ms. Burroughs was honored for providing twice-weekly transportation to grocery stores and other shopping venues for residents of Arlington's senior-housing facilities. She was nominated for the award by more than 25 of the residents she helps every week.
Ms. Burroughs is also a driver for Arlington's STAR program, which provides transportation to residents who have difficulty using public transportation due to the effects of age or disability.
