ART Experiencing Problems with Real-Time Bus Predictions

November 8, 2016

ART is currently having intermittent problems with real-time bus predictions. Some ART buses are encountering radio interference from an unknown source, which causes them to stop transmitting location data to our system. The interference happens randomly on certain vehicles for up to 5 hours at a time; it does not affect all buses or happen at all times.

Our real-time info vendor is aware of the problem and is actively investigating it. Once the cause has been determined, a fix will be developed and implemented as soon as possible.

We know how frustrating this problem is for our riders, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced recently. If you find that the real-time data is not working properly, we encourage you to visit arlingtontransit.com/pages/schedules/ for scheduled arrival times for all ART routes. Also, please note that many mobile apps will continue to show scheduled bus arrival times when real-time data is not available.
