ART 43, 45 and 55 Detours on October 30 for the Marine Corps Marathon

On Sunday, October 30, the ART 43, 45 and 55 routes will be detoured due to the Marine Corps Marathon. The detours will last from the start of service for each route until 6:00 pm, unless otherwise noted. The ART 45 and 55 bus stops in Rosslyn will be relocated and the ART 43 Northbound bus stop in Rosslyn will not be served. See below for the detour for each route.

ART 42 will also be starting service at 5 AM on Sunday, October 30, to accommodate those participating in the race. Learn more and view the ART 42 special event schedule. 

ART 43 Detour 

Start of service -  6:00 pm
Only the Southbound ART 43 stop in Rosslyn, located at Wilson Blvd @ Ft. Myer Dr., will be served during the detour. The Northbound ART 43 stop in Rosslyn will not be served.

ART 43 Southbound – Going from Courthouse to Crystal City

From Clarendon Blvd:

  • Right on Fort Myer Dr.
  • Right on Route 50W
  • Exit on Washington Blvd. towards 395
  • Follow to Crystal City Metro
  • Left on 15 St. S.

ART 43 Northbound – Going from Crystal City Metro to Courthouse
The ART 43 Northbound bus stop in Rosslyn, located at Wilson Blvd. @ N. Moore St., will not be served during the detour.

From Bell St:

  • Right on 18th St., will change to S. Hayes St.
  • Follow S. Hayes St. to 27W
  • Right on Route 50E
  • Exit to 14th St.
  • Right on N. Rhodes St.
  • Left on Wilson Blvd and continue route

ART 45 Detour

Start of service until  6:00 pm
Due to race festivities, buses that stop at the Rosslyn Metro station, including ART 45, will be moved two blocks west to N. Oak St., between Wilson and Key Blvds.

ART 45 Northbound – Going from Columbia Pike to Rosslyn Metro

Normal route until Clarendon Blvd. From Clarendon Blvd:

  • Left on N. Oak St. to temporary stop

ART 45 Southbound – Going from Rosslyn Metro to Columbia Pike

From the temporary Rosslyn stop on N. Oak St.:

  • Left on N. Key Blvd
  • Left N. Quinn St.
  • Right on Wilson Blvd and continue regular route


ART 55 Detours

Street closings in and around Rosslyn for race and post-race activities makes it necessary for ART 55 to have one detour from the start of service – 12:00 pm and a different detour from 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm. See below for the detour information.

Also due to race festivities, buses that stop at the Rosslyn Metro station, including ART 55, will be moved two blocks west to N. Oak St., between Wilson and Key Blvds.

ART 55 detours from start of service – 12:00 pm

ART 55 Westbound – Going from Rosslyn to the East Falls Church Metro

Starting at the temporary stop on N. Oak St. between Wilson & Key Blvd:

  • Continue N. Oak St
  • Left Key Blvd.
  • Left N. Quinn St.
  • Right N. Wilson Blvd.
  • Right Washington Blvd.
  • Right N. Quincy St.
  • Left Lee Highway and regular route

ART 55 Eastbound – Going from the East Falls Church Metro to Rosslyn

  • Regular route to Lee Hwy & N. Quincy St, then:
  • Left Washington Blvd.
  • Left Clarendon Blvd.
  • Left N. Oak St. to temporary stand south of Key Blvd.

ART 55 detours from 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm

ART 55 Westbound -- Going from Rosslyn to the East Falls Church Metro

Starting at the temporary stop on N. Oak St. between Wilson Blvd & Key Blvd:

  • Continue N. Oak St.
  • Left Key Blvd
  • Continue N. Scott St.
  • Left Lee Hwy and regular route

ART 55 Eastbound – Going from the East Falls Church Metro to Rosslyn
Regular route to Lee Hwy & N. Rhodes St, then:

  • Right N. Veitch St.
  • Left Clarendon Blvd
  • Left N. Oak St. to temporary stand south of Key Blvd.
